YASURAGI story

The simplistic elegance of Yasuragi is striking. It is best described as a Japanese enclave inspired by the time-honored Ryokan and Onsen bath houses. With its unique architecture and location, it has been a haven in the Stockholm archipelago since the mid-nineties.

The concept was built around an eastern influence and adapted the elegant designs of Japan for physical work and a damp environment. The combination of durability and delicacy resulted in a jacket with a wrap-around design inspired by a classic kimono. Two stripes along the waist paid homage to the traditional Obi belt while the tied waistband gave the jacket an adaptable fit.

The uniforms for the spa personnel had to be more flexible. Combined with a clean top, the centerpiece for this uniform were pants with a design derived from the hakama, a garment worn by the samurais of ancient Japan.
